Alcatel may launch modular smartphone at MWC 2017
Alcatel may launch a latest smartphone at the upcoming MWC 2017 tradeshow. According to a report by a Hungarian website, the company is expected to reveal as many as five smartphones at the event.
Alcatel has sent media invites where it will be launching the smartphones, including one modular handset for an event scheduled for February 26, Tech2 website obtained two images of the upcoming modular smartphone, showing the rear panel of the device. The images highlight that the smartphone will have a dotted rear panel plus JBL powered speakers. It is expected to come by means of a 13MP rear camera by means of dual-LED flash, by means of an octa-core MediaTek chipset powering the hplusset.
Other details of the smartphones are not known right now.
Alcatel revealed A3 XL smartphone at the CES 2017 event. Priced at $200, the Alcatel A3 XL features a 6-inch HD display of 720×1280 pixel resolution. Powering the handset is a 1.1GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8735B processor paired by means of 1GB of RAM. It offers 8GB of internal storage, expandable up to 32GB via microSD cards.
Running Android 7.0 Nougat OS, the A3 XL has an 8MP rear camera by means of LED flash plus a 5MP front-facing shooter for selfies. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth plus GPS, by means of a 3,000mAh battery rounding off the spec sheet.
The smartphone will go on sale in Asia Pacific, Middle East, African plus Latin American markets during the first quarter of 2017.
