BlackBerry Mercury to be unveiled on February 25 at MWC 2017
The upcoming BlackBerry Android smartphone Mercury has been in latest for some time now. The smartphone was also showcased to select media at the recent CES trade show in Las Vegas, US.Also the Canadian company has finally announced that it will be launching the smartphone at the upcoming Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona.
BlackBerry Mobile’s Twitter posted a teaser of the Mercury smartphone.The tweet is with a GIF image showing the device along with the launch date.The smartphone will be made public at pre-MWC 2017 event on January 25.
According to the latest leaks plus rumours, the BlackBerry Mercury will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor. The hplusset is also expected to come by means of a 4.5-inch dual-curved display by means of 3GB of RAM plus 32GB of internal storage. For imaging duties, it’s likely to have an 18MP rear camera plus an 8MP front-facing snapper.
The smartphone is likely to run on android 7.0 Nougat plus will have hardware Qwerty keys. There will also be a touch screen display. Although there is no confirmation on the handset’s processor, rumours say the device will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor.
BlackBerry recently announced that it has entered into a long-term licensing agreement by means of China-based TCL Communication to manufacture smartphones.
BlackBerry launch will be followed by the events from Motorola, HMD Global, LG plus Huawei on February 26. Sony has scheduled its event for February 27.
